Today Hannah is officially part of our family, we were only her guardians yesterday. We spent the first half of the day filling out paperwork and requesting a passport for her at the local police dept.
Guangzhou is very different than Beijing. Hot and 200% humidity (or it feels like it anyway) Hannah slept well last night and is doing somewhat better today. She is still a little scared, and is not too sure about us. She does recognize where her bottles and dry diapers come from so thats a start. She is also unusually attracted to Daddys moustache, and reaches out to touch it. She has never been around men before, so her Daddy is an interesting sight to her. (if she only knew....) Hannah had her first bath today, and we discovered that she has Mongolian spots on her back shoulders and bottom. These are common in chinese babies and a few other nationalities and are harmless. We have to have our pediatritian document them though, because they look like huge bruises. We saw Hannah smile for the first time today and her personality is beginning to show. She likes to play in her crib although she put a pretty good knot on her forehead today while she was in it. She grins and then hides her face when I sing to her and plays some sort of game where she shakes her head yes and then shakes her head no. I saw a couple of the other babies do it to so it must be a game that they played with all of the babies. Thankyou for all your prayers, we can certainly feel them. We have been very well taken care of while we have been here. We also met Jordan today. This is the man that will be accepting the "books" that we brought from home. He was very excited when we told him that we had "something" for him next week. Continue to pray for us. |
